About the Role


Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join an Acute Care Team in a dynamic community setting. In this role, you will provide critical assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term case management for clients experiencing acute mental health challenges. You’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery-focused care in the community.

This is a short-term locum opportunity, offering the flexibility to explore a new location and experience a taste of what North Queensland has to offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and risk evaluations
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and crisis support
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with clients and families
  • Provide short-term case management and follow-up support
  • Liaise with hospitals, GPs, and community services to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports in line with clinical standards

About You:

  • Qualification in Social Work or Psychology
  • AHPRA or AASW registration/eligibility
  • Experience in acute mental health services
  • Strong risk assessment, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
